Vascular Reduction Treatment

Vascular Reduction Treatment
If you are about to go in for vascular reduction treatment, you may have a few questions about what to expect. Thankfully, you’ll be able to have peace of mind knowing that it is a relatively straightforward procedure, and one that isn’t followed by an excessively long recovery procedure.

Here at Rejuvu Day Spa and Beauty Haven in West Point, UT, we are proud to offer this revolutionary solution and encourage you to learn more about it.

How to get started with vascular reduction treatment

Before you have your vascular reduction treatment, you will need to take part in a consultation with a specialist. He or she will look at the problem area to examine the veins.

The specialist will also be interested to hear as much as possible about your family history and any other medical treatments and courses of medication that you are currently going through.

Using all this information, he or she will be able to assess how many sessions you will need and the results you can expect from them.

How does it work?

When you go in for your treatment sessions, the specialist will use a technique called photothermolysis on the veins and blood vessels in the affected area. They will shine light in very short bursts onto the blood vessels, which will damage their walls. Once the walls have been damaged, the veins will then start to break down and become a lot less noticeable. If all goes well, they should turn completely invisible. Don’t worry about any surrounding tissue in the area, as the light bursts won’t affect anything other than the targeted blood vessels.

One of the advantages of going through vascular reduction treatment is that the results are visible immediately. As soon as the light has been applied to the area, you should be able to notice a reduction in the visibility of blood vessels and veins. These results will also last for up to a year, so there’s no need to continually go back for repeat treatments.

What happens afterwards?

Once you have had a session of vascular reduction treatment, you might notice some slight redness around the affected area. There could be some swelling too. This shouldn’t be too uncomfortable, though, and most of the swelling and redness will have disappeared within 24 hours.

Applying a cool pack to the area can help with the healing process. Applying aloe vera to the area can also help reduce the redness and swelling as well. During this 24-hour period, it’s advisable not to take hot baths or to scratch or rub the area as it could aggravate it and cause the recovery period to lengthen.
